This journey will take you into the heart of the Incan Empire, exploring the impressive sites of Sacsayhuaman and other surrounding sites around the city of Cusco, such as Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, before reaching Machu Picchu. You will then continue to the city of Puerto Maldonado, from where you will take a boat to your lodge. You will be merged into an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna, and will enjoy the huge biodiversity that the jungle offers. This is one of the richest natural areas on earth and it is known as the “biological capital of the world”. Although the city itself may have little of interest to tourists, it is the port of entry to some of the most beautiful forests in the country, particularly those in the Tambopata-Candamo Reserve.
